JFS French teacher Bryan Tran organized a field trip for his seventh- and eighth-grade students to experience French Night at a Syracuse Crunch Hockey Game, enhancing their understanding of French culture beyond the classroom walls. Every year, the Syracuse Crunch hosts an evening for French students from across New York State.
Eighth-grader William Raplee competed in a red light/green light competition on the ice during the first intermission and won a $50 gift card. He said, “I’ve always loved hockey from a young age. I am so thankful for Mr. Tran who made this fun event possible!” Our JFS French students also had the opportunity to meet four hockey players from Québec at the end of the game. William added, “I got to talk to one of the players about hockey. I had an amazing time, and I will never forget this experience.”
The evening was filled with entertainment, concession food, and hockey. Thank you to JFS teachers Tricia Wirth, Sarah Sherman, Makayla Krause, and Carol Ann Pawlyshyn for joining an exciting evening with our French students. Congratulations to all French students for demonstrating respect, responsibility, and utmost enthusiasm. “You make our Tiger community proud,” said Mr. Tran. #TigerPride
